Well, it’s been a while. 94 days to be exact. Sorry about that. Summer is a time for rest and relaxation and breaks. Except that my summer was busy with work, work, and more work. C’est la vie.
I have no complaints, however. It was a fantastic summer of changes and challenges from all sides. We now live in the basement of our own house (mid-renovation stage), and as of today, I’m now a teacher. God is good, and I’m grateful for the life I have.
If you’ve visited in the past and are only just returning, you’ll notice that a few things have changed. My blog name, for one (not to mention the design and layout). The truth is that I’m not reading as much about hockey as I used to, so I wanted to loosen things up and give myself the freedom to write about stuff that doesn’t concern hockey. You know, things like history, reading, language, fiction, Canadian life, etc. If that makes this blog too scattered to enjoyably read, I apologize. However, I think it’ll improve things, give a more fully-orbed focus to my e-meanderings, and maybe even entertain you. Time will tell.
There will still be hockey stuff. I promise. This season looks to be exciting, and I’m looking forward to penning thoughts on Vancouver’s progress throughout the season. Look for some in the near future (because I’ve got to get that out before the pre-season kicks off, right?).
And, finally, we still have more Blue Ice to get in other people’s hands, if they want them. I’ve got some ideas, so stay tuned.
Cheers. It’s good to be back online.
