Last week, I was fortunate enough to be up in the Lower Mainland for the beginning of the playoffs. And it was wonderful. Canucks flags flew from every other car (at least), and I got to see the glory that is Hockey Night in Canada (it’s been a long, long time since I’ve been able to see a Canucks playoff game on CBC).
We’ve returned to Idaho now (and I’m biting my nails as the Canucks get set to enter the third period all tied up with the Blues). But we won’t be in Idaho long. Come May 16th, we will (Lordwilling) be living up in beautiful British Columbia where I’ve accepted a new job.
In many ways this change will be bittersweet. My wife Sandy and I will leave behind many good friends and a wonderful church community. That said, there are many things to look forward to, as well. Most of my family still lives up in the Lower Mainland, there’s always a Tim Horton’s to be found, and I’ll be in a wonderful environment for continuing my hockey writing. Like I said, bittersweet.
This does mean, however, that entries on this weblog may not come as often. I will be doing my utmost to keep things regular (I don’t want to lose or disappoint any of you, faithful readers!), but moving is going to be a lot of work and I can’t make any promises.
Blue Ice will be still be available mid-May, and I hope to post some goodies (or what I consider goodies, at any rate) before its release. Don’t forget to tell your friends.
Time to get back to the playoffs. Go Canucks Go!
